Of Portuguese origin, Vera Alves is an active businesswoman who is always seeking new challenges. After a scientific path that never quite fulfilled her expectations, she developed a Latin dance school in Luxembourg in the 2000s. In 2004, Michel Bastos, active in the insurance industry, noticed her boundless energy and eventually convinced her to venture into insurance. She started timidly but quickly accelerated her progress. In 2009, they together founded Albalux, an insurance brokerage company that would be wound down by the end of the year. In 2013, Vera Alves opened her own agency in the city of Bettembourg. Her partnership with Michel Bastos continued to grow, and they realized several projects together. Albalux emerged from the wind-down in 2017 with a new business model as a mortgage brokerage company, which they branded as Albalux Crédit in 2018. Subsequently, they established Alba Office, a company providing administrative assistance to individuals and businesses, and WOAH!, a company specialized in communication and digital marketing. More recently, they acquired Mir Botzen, a cleaning company serving individuals and professionals.
